The U.S. Department of Justice and the European Commission both imposed fines upon Bayer AG and Zeon Chemicals for their roles in fixing prices of Nitrile Butadiene Rubber ("NBR").  NBR is used to manufacture automotive parts, including hoses and belts.  According to the authorities, the co-conspirators conspired in 2001 and 2002 to fix prices in the industry.
